Batailles de Reines - Eliminatoria di Ayas

The tradition of the Batailles de Reines has accompanied life in the Val d'Ayas for generations, a land of mountain pastures and breeding of the Aosta breed at the foot of Monte Rosa. Aosta Valley breed cows, with their combative temperament, face each other in ritual and bloodless contests that select the strongest queens. The inclusion of Ayas among the official venues for the eliminatory rounds, decided for the 2026-2028 three-year cycle, recognizes and values an ancient bond between the valley and this competition, a true pillar of the rural identity of the Aosta Valley. Around the competitions, farming culture, local gastronomy, and mountain conviviality make the Batailles de Reines much more than a simple contest.
