Batailles de Reines - Ayas Elimination

The tradition of the Batailles de Reines has accompanied life in the Ayas Valley for generations, a land of alpine pastures and Aosta Valley breed breeding at the foot of Monte Rosa. The Aosta Valley cows, with their combative temperament, face each other in ritualistic and bloodless contests that select the strongest queens. Ayas' inclusion among the official elimination venues, decided for the 2026-2028 three-year cycle, recognizes and values an ancient bond between the valley and this competition, a true pillar of the Aosta Valley's rural identity. Around the competitions, rural culture, local gastronomy, and mountain conviviality make the Batailles de Reines much more than a simple contest.
