Edition 2025 — Batailles de Reines Vertosan

In the summer of 2025, the Comba di Vertosan in Avise once again hosted its elimination round of the Batailles de Reines, with Aosta Valley breed cows starring in the traditional alpine pasture contests. The day, valid for qualification to the Regional Final, drew owners and enthusiasts to the picturesque high-altitude basin, amidst traditional sport and local gastronomy.

The 2025 Avise-Vertosan elimination confirmed the charm of one of the most characteristic summer stages of the Batailles de Reines. In the Comba di Vertosan, a natural alpine pasture amphitheatre in the Municipality of Avise, the Aosta Valley queens faced each other with their horns in the ritual contests that select the finalists for the Regional Competition. Around the competition, the day featured the weighing of the cows, lunch with typical products, and moments of conviviality that make this elimination a true Aosta Valley mountain festival, an integral part of the region's rural identity.
