Edition 2025 — Barthlmastag on the Ritten
Barthlmastag 2025
The 2025 edition of the Barthlmastag was held on Monday, August 25 on the Ritten (Renon) plateau, in the province of Bolzano. August 24, the feast of St. Bartholomew, fell on a Sunday: since Sunday is not a market day, the transhumance and livestock market were moved to Monday, as per tradition.
As every year, the central moment was the noon Almabtrieb at the Schian-Alm, with livestock led down to the valley amidst the cracking of whips and the calls of the saltner, accompanied by the Wangen brass band and alphorn players. In the afternoon, the party continued in Pemmern with culinary specialties, a children's program, and live music.
