Baronial Wedding and International Festival of the Worlds

The 2025 edition of the Baronial Wedding and the International Festival of the Worlds was held in Petralia Soprana on August 14th and 15th. On the evening of August 14th, the village hosted the serenade to the couple, an elegant historical dance, and the performance of the Stendardieri of Petralia Soprana.

On August 15th, the heart of the event, the wedding procession in 18th-century costumes crossed the historic center to Piazza del Duomo, where the Mother Church served as the backdrop for the re-enactment of the 1700 marriage between Donna Catarina Sgadari and Don Giuseppe Di Maria. From the morning, the Pro Loco's Gastronomic Day offered Madonie specialties: cured meats, cheeses, legumes, pasta dishes, and traditional desserts accompanied by local wines.

The day concluded with the traditional Ballo della Cordella by the folk group "U Rafu – Terra del Sale" and the International Festival of the Worlds, which featured folk groups from Poland, Serbia, Colombia, Mexico, and Portugal.
