Edition 2025 — Scottish Festival

The 2025 edition of the Barga Scottish Festival took place from September 5th to 7th, with a rich program of music, dance, and Scottish culture. Bagpipes, ceilidh dancing, Highland Games, and the Scottish market animated the squares and alleys of the village of Barga, in Garfagnana, for three days.

The Barga Scottish Festival 2025 was held from September 5th to 7th in the historic center of Barga, in the province of Lucca.

Friday the 5th marked the official opening with a parade from Piazza Pascoli led by the Isle of Skye Youth Pipe Band and a gala concert at the Teatro dei Differenti. Saturday the 6th featured an official meeting between the Mayor of Barga and the Lord Provost of Glasgow, a concert in Piazza del Comune, and the Barga Ceilidh Dance evening in Piazza San Felice with the Lionhead duo. Sunday the 7th was dedicated to the Highland Games at Kennedy Park, Celtic music concerts, and dance performances, with the participation of the Royal Highland Company Pipes & Drums and the Circolo di Lucca Dance Society.

Throughout the weekend, the Barga Scottish Market offered whisky, beers, haggis, shortbread, and tartan products, accompanied by Scottish-themed painting and photography exhibitions.
