2025 Carnival in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto
The 2025 edition confirmed the vitality of the Barcellona Carnival with a rich calendar of events. The three allegorical float parades took place on Sunday, March 2 along the route from the Courthouse to Ponte Longano, Monday, March 3 in the Petraro district starting from Piazza Verga, and Tuesday, March 4 through the Sant'Antonino and San Francesco di Paola districts.
Among the highlights were Shrove Thursday evening in Piazza Duomo with live music and street food, a show by physics professor Vincenzo Schettini (sold-out), the Children's Carnival with a small train, bubbles, and entertainment, as well as an exhibition dedicated to the Carnival and a meeting on carnival traditions at the municipal library. The festival concluded in Piazza Convento with a show and final awards.
