Baniolum Barbaricum – Festival of the Early Middle Ages and Barbarian Invasions

Baniolum Barbaricum 2025

The fourth edition of Baniolum Barbaricum was held on May 17th and 18th, 2025, at Parco Europa in Bagnolo in Piano, in the province of Reggio Emilia. The theme of this edition was "The Years of Chaos", referring to the last twenty years of the Western Roman Empire, from the death of Attila to the deposition of the last emperor Romulus Augustulus in 476 AD.

For two days, the park hosted historical encampments, re-enactments of battles and military maneuvers, a themed artisan market, a tavern, and educational activities for children, confirming Baniolum Barbaricum as one of the most beloved events in the Reggio Emilia calendar dedicated to the Early Middle Ages. Admission was free.
