Edition 2025 — Badessa Festival

In 2025, the Badessa Festival celebrated its 40th anniversary on May 24 and 25. A record-breaking edition in terms of attendance, with a historical pageant, a re-enactment of the love between Blessed Lucia and Knight Rolando, games between the blue, red, and green terzieri, and, as a novelty for the 40th anniversary, a commemorative philatelic postmark designed by young designer Irene Mercuro.

The 2025 edition of the Badessa Festival celebrated the prestigious milestone of its 40th anniversary, taking place on May 24 and 25, 2025, in Ozzano dell'Emilia. The historical pageant started from various points in the town to reach the church of Sant'Ambrogio for the blessing, and then proceeded to the area set up for the celebrations at the Town Hall. The event re-enacted the legendary love between Blessed Lucia, abbess of Settefonti, and the knight Diatagora Fava, known as Rolando, with flag performances, men-at-arms, and period banquets. The town was divided into three terzieri: blue, red, and green; the blue terziere emerged victorious. Among the novelties for the 40th anniversary was a commemorative philatelic postmark available on Sunday afternoon. The edition concluded with record attendance, confirming its status as one of the most cherished events in the Ozzano community.
