Edition 2025 — Bacco Festival
Summer 2025 in San Gregorio Magno
In 2025, the Gregorian Summer enlivened San Gregorio Magno, in the province of Salerno, from June to September. The calendar opened on June 15 with the Turniata in honor of Saint Vitus the Martyr, and continued in July with the Dance Tarantella, the "All in One Day" volleyball tournament, and the Feast of the Madonna del Carmine.
The month of August was marked by the Angiolillo Folk Festival on August 5 and 6, the festivities of Santa Maria delle Grazie on August 14 and 15, and above all by the 32nd edition of the Baccanalia, from August 20 to 24, with the Via Bacco cellars open from 8 PM to 2 AM and the concert area active until late at night. The season closed in September with the Patronal Feast.
For the Bacco Festival, the music series curated by the association of the same name, we did not find a detailed program for 2025 in local chronicles. The most detailed accounts refer to previous editions, when the festival took place in Piazza Bacco with a national contest for original songs judged by a jury chaired by maestro Ciro Barbato, a literary salon set up in the cellars with a food and aperitif area, the "Le Baccanti" photography exhibition by Alfred Marino, and performances by local folk groups and singer-songwriters.
