The 26th edition, between devotion and flavors

The 2025 edition of the Baccalà Festival took place on Monday, December 8th, in the historic center of Cassano delle Murge, for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Now in its 26th year, the event was organized by the Associazione Amici di Tutti with the patronage of the Municipality and the local parish.

The day combined religious rites with public festivities: after the Holy Mass and the procession of the Immaculate through the streets of the old town, the cooking stations between Largo Immacolata and Via Gentile began serving fried baccalà, pettole, and scagliozze, accompanied by local wine and oil. In the evening, the gospel concert by The Joyful Chorus, directed by Maestro Roberto Angiulo, enlivened the Church of San Nicola, officially kicking off the 2025 Cassano Christmas.

December 8, 2025 — Feast of the Immaculate Conception

• Afternoon — Holy Mass in the Mother Church and procession of the image of the Immaculate Madonna through the historic center.
• Evening — Opening of the Baccalà Festival between Largo Immacolata and Via Gentile: fried salt cod, pettole, scagliozze, local wine, and oil.
• Night — Gospel concert by The Joyful Chorus (dir. Maestro Roberto Angiulo) in the Church of San Nicola.
