Edition 2025 — Maris Stella Feast
Maris Stella Feast 2025 in Torre Suda
In the summer of 2025, the marina of Torre Suda, a hamlet of Racale (Lecce), celebrated its patron saint, the Blessed Virgin Mary Maris Stella, with the traditional secular and religious festivities of mid-August.
After Holy Mass, the statue of the Madonna was led in procession through the streets of the village down to the sea, where it was placed on a boat pushed by hand by the faithful along the Canale della Volpe, following a ritual deeply felt by the community. The evenings were enlivened by brass band music, illuminations, and stalls along the marina, with the participation of the many summer visitors present on this stretch of the Ionian coast. The seaside greasy pole game and the fireworks display at midnight were the highlights, closing the festivities in style as they reflected over the Salento sea.
