Edition 2025 — Avigna Törggelen Festival

In autumn 2025, the Avigna Volunteer Fire Brigade once again hosted the Törggelen Festival in the village centre near the primary school. Local chestnuts, traditional South Tyrolean dishes, and classic pastries accompanied a convivial day that, as per tradition, launched the San Genesio Chestnut Weeks.

The 2025 edition

The 2025 Avigna Törggelen Festival took place in October in the centre of the hamlet, organised by the Avigna Volunteer Fire Brigade. As every year, the festival featured freshly harvested chestnuts, traditional South Tyrolean dishes, and classic pastries (Mehlspeisen), in a rural festive atmosphere that attracted locals and hikers to the Salto Plateau.

The event confirmed its role as the opening moment for the San Genesio Chestnut Weeks, the autumn festival dedicated to the region's signature fruit, featuring hikes through the chestnut groves, gourmet markets, and culinary offerings in the mountain farms and restaurants of the municipality, in the province of Bolzano.
