Edition 2025 — Aventine Early Music
The 2025 edition of the festival
The 17th edition of the Roman festival adopted a two-part structure: four Sunday events in June and three evenings in September, all held at the Basilica of Santi Bonifacio e Alessio on the Aventine, in the municipality of Rome.
The June block opened on the 8th with «Two Romans Born Elsewhere», a concert by the Ensemble Barocco di Napoli featuring music by Arcangelo Corelli and Alessandro Scarlatti. This was followed by Johann Sebastian Bach's Goldberg Variations performed on harpsichord by Simone Pierini (June 15), «At the Court of the Esterhazy» (June 22), and «J.S. Bach, Journey to Italy» (June 29).
The September return focused on sacred repertoire and comparisons between great composers: Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's Stabat Mater on September 14, «Alessandro Scarlatti vs Händel» on September 21, and «Palestrina vs Lassus» on September 28, dedicated to Renaissance polyphony.
In 2025, all concerts were free to attend, with booking recommended via WhatsApp.
