Edition 2025 — Autumn Festival at Il Ceppo

The fifth edition of the Autumn Festival at Rifugio il Ceppo took place on Sunday, October 19, 2025, immersed in the greenery of the Bosco Martese in Rocca Santa Maria (TE). A day dedicated to chestnuts and marroni, featuring a guided tour of the chestnut groves, forest foraging, lunch with roasted potatoes and roasted chestnuts, tastings, and folk music and dance, amidst the autumn colors of the Monti della Laga.

5th Autumn Festival — October 19, 2025

The fifth edition of the Autumn Festival at Rifugio il Ceppo was held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, in Rocca Santa Maria (TE), in the heart of the Bosco Martese. The day began at 9:30 AM with a meeting in the square for the guided tour of the chestnut groves of Rocca Santa Maria and the harvesting of chestnuts and marroni (participation fee 15 euros).

At midday, lunch at the mountain hut featured roasted potatoes and roasted chestnuts, followed in the afternoon by a chestnut tasting at 3:30 PM and, at 4:00 PM, folk music and dancing to close the day's festivities. During the event, local products were on sale: chestnuts, honey, milk, cheeses, and potatoes.

Programme

Sunday, October 19, 2025: - 9:30 AM — Meeting in the square and guided tour of the Rocca Santa Maria chestnut groves with chestnut and marroni harvesting (fee 15 euros) - 12:30 PM — Lunch at the mountain hut with roasted potatoes and roasted chestnuts - 3:30 PM — Chestnut tasting - 4:00 PM — Folk music and dancing
