The third edition of AstiLirica, organized by the Municipality of Asti with Lirica Tamagno and directed by Renato Bonajuto, offered five evenings dedicated to bel canto and opera. The program opened with Baroque music in the Astense Library courtyard: La serva padrona by Pergolesi (June 9, with Linda Campanella and Matteo Peirone) and Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno by Handel (June 15). On June 30, the Teatro Alfieri hosted pianist Roberto Cominati with a program of operatic paraphrases and transcriptions by Liszt; on July 3, the Baptistery of San Pietro hosted a polyphonic concert ranging from the Renaissance to the 20th century, with free admission. The festival closed on July 7 with Puccini's Madama Butterfly, directed by Renato Bonajuto and conducted by Stefano Giaroli.
