Assalto al Castello 2025 — 40th edition

From August 2 to 7, 2025, Contigliano Alta celebrated the fortieth edition of the Assalto al Castello. The opening on August 2nd featured the historical pageant with the Sbandieratori Città di Borgovelino and the arrival of Vitellozzo Vitelli's troops, followed by roving performances of medieval music, fire-eaters, bagpipes, and falconry, the archers' camp, the historical market, and a photography exhibition by Luigi Speranza.

On August 3rd, with a free guided tour of the village's history, the re-enactment of the "Throwing of the stone at Vitellozzo Vitelli" was performed by the Teatro Jobel. During the central days, historical lectures were held on dueling in the Renaissance and medieval relics, while on August 7th, the Palio dell'Ariete and the performance by the Sbandieratori di San Gemini closed the event.
