Ascanio

In 2025, the Renaissance festival Ascanio brought the historic center of Tagliacozzo to life on July 12 and 13. On Saturday, after the arts and ancient crafts market, town criers and trumpeters opened the event from 5:30 PM, followed by pageants of flag-wavers and musicians—including the Corteo di Monte Leone di Orvieto, the Compagnia Città della Pieve, and the Pistonieri Santa Maria del Rovo of Cava de' Tirreni—with games of yesteryear for children by Metamorfosi and the opening of inns and taverns with themed menus.

Sunday featured guided tours of historic palaces, the 11:00 AM conference "Ascanio from Tagliacozzo, Abruzzo pride in goldsmithing art" in the Municipal Council Hall, pavement artists from the Neapolitan school, and the pageants of the Compagnia Città di Amelia, closing with dinner in the taverns with a Renaissance menu. An edition that confirmed Ascanio as one of the most heartfelt re-enactments in Abruzzo.
