About Artigianato Vivo Cison

In August, Cison di Valmarino, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy nestled in the UNESCO World Heritage Prosecco hills, transforms into a large open-air workshop. Artigianato Vivo, now in its 45th edition in 2026, brings over 200 artisans from all over Italy and abroad to work live with wood, iron, ceramics, leather, and paper in the alleys, courtyards, and squares of the historic center. Nine days of interactive workshops, dozens of live music concerts, food stalls with local products, and cultural exhibitions: a unique event of its kind, organized for over forty years by the Pro Loco.

A village that becomes a workshop again

Cison di Valmarino, in the province of Treviso, is one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, nestled among the Prosecco hills of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene, a UNESCO heritage site. Every August, for nine days, its historic center transforms into a large open-air workshop thanks to Artigianato Vivo, the event that since 1981 the Pro Loco has dedicated to manual skills. In 2026, the event will reach its 45th edition.

Over 200 artisans at work live

Every corner of the village becomes an open-air workshop where over 200 artisans — masters of wood, iron, ceramics, leather, and paper — work before the public's eyes. Many open their temporary workshops to those who want to try their hand at the crafts, without shortcuts. It is a way to bring the public closer to forms of artistic expression often overshadowed by mass production.

Concerts, workshops, and gastronomy

Artigianato Vivo is not just a market. The program features dozens of live music concerts (about fifty in the 2025 edition), interactive workshops for all ages, cultural exhibitions, and numerous meetings that liven up the village. Along the route, in Piazza Roma, Borgo Capretta, and Case Marian, food stalls offer traditional dishes with a particular focus on local products: cured meats, cheeses, wines, and rustic desserts.

An experience among the Prosecco hills

The setting of Cison di Valmarino, among the Treviso hills recognized as a World Heritage site, makes Artigianato Vivo much more than a festival: it is an immersion in the material culture and landscape of the hilly Veneto region. An event that attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year and has become a benchmark for artistic craftsmanship in Italy.

Artigianato Vivo Cison — edition 2026

The 45th edition of Artigianato Vivo takes place from August 8 to 16, 2026, in the historic center of Cison di Valmarino. Over 200 artisans from all over Italy and abroad, interactive workshops, live music concerts, and food stalls with local products animate for nine days one of Italy's most beautiful villages.
