ART CITY Bologna

The 2025 edition of ART CITY Bologna, the thirteenth, was held from February 6 to 16 concurrently with Arte Fiera, under the coordination of the Modern and Contemporary Art Area of the Civic Museums of Bologna and the artistic direction of Lorenzo Balbi. The Special Program, supported by the main sponsorship of Banca di Bologna, was dedicated to the Gates of the City: ten site-specific interventions by Italian and international artists—including Angelo Plessas, Susan Philipsz, and Judith Hopf—dialogued with the ten historic gates of Bologna. The entire city became a stage with over 240 events including exhibitions, performances, installations, talks, and meetings, culminating in the ART CITY White Night on Saturday, February 8, with spaces open until midnight.
