47th Arona Winter Plunge
On Sunday, February 9, 2025, the Arona lakefront hosted the 47th edition of the Winter Plunge, organized by Pro Loco Arona in memory of Professor Sandro Ferrari and Giuseppe De Micheli "Pep".
At 11:30 AM, 61 participants immersed themselves in the icy waters of Lake Maggiore, with a water temperature of 8°C and an air temperature of 4°C. After the plunge, the ninth edition of the ICE Sprint took place, a 50-meter swimming race won by Vittorio Granata from Meina. Among the youngest participants were Enrico Gallina and Viola Ferrara, while the oldest were Carla Barbato and Ivano Bertolini.
