Edition 2025 — Archeofestival

The third edition of Archeofestival, held from February 8 to June 14, 2025, was dedicated to the role of women in Campanian history. Nine stops between the Nola area, the Sarno Valley, the Agro Nocerino-Sarnese-Pompeiano, the Vesuvius area, and the Torre coast told the stories of ancient female figures such as Brutia, Maxima, and Poppea, through guided tours, theatrical performances, re-enactments, and educational activities, all free upon reservation.

Archeofestival 2025: Ancient Campania in the feminine

The 3rd edition of Archeofestival chose a specific theme: women in the history of ancient Campania. Each stop reconstructed the story of a female figure, real or literary, linked to the host site. It started on February 8 in Sarno, with «A princess and a lady» at the Archaeological Museum of the Sarno Valley, continuing on February 22 in Nuceria, March 7 and 8 in Poggiomarino and Striano with «Brutia, the Queen of the Sarrasti» between the protohistoric village of Longola and the necropolises, and then on March 22 in Terzigno with «Phaedra or the madness of love».

The second part of the journey touched Boscoreale (April 12, on the tracks of Maxima, lady of Pisanella), Torre Annunziata (May 3, in the excavations of Oplontis), the Archaeological Park of Pompeii (May 17, «The women of Pompeii»), Nola and Cimitile (May 31, «Women and the sacred»), and finally Palma Campania on June 14, with «Matrons and servants» at the Augustan Aqueduct.

As always, all activities — including visits to museums and archaeological sites — were free and accessible upon reservation, with particular attention to local schools.
