Edition 2025 — ArcheoCanusium

The second edition of ArcheoCanusium San Pietro was held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at sunset starting at 7:00 PM, at the San Pietro excavations in Canosa di Puglia. A free evening of guided tours with archaeologists from the Universities of Bari and Foggia, dedicated to presenting the results of the second excavation campaign.

The second edition of ArcheoCanusium San Pietro brought the public inside the San Pietro archaeological site at sunset on June 27, 2025. Archaeologists Giovanni De Venuto, Giuliano Volpe (University of Bari), and Maria Turchiano (University of Foggia) led the tour, presenting the results of the second excavation campaign promoted by the Fondazione Archeologica Canosina.

Among the discoveries illustrated: a core of the pre-Roman settlement with residential and production structures, and the remains of an artisan quarter dedicated to the production of amphorae and other ceramics, the so-called "ceramic district" of Canusium. A precious opportunity to observe the work of archaeologists in the field up close and learn about the ancient history of Canosa.
