Arbëreshë Easter Rites and Celebrations

The Easter celebrations of 2025, with Easter on April 20th, confirmed the vitality of the Arbëreshë tradition in Campomarino. Women of the community wore traditional costumes, dresses embroidered in gold and jewelry, participating in solemn masses and processions in the setting of the old village and the Church of Santa Maria a Mare. An event that, year after year, renews the bond of the Albanian community of Molise with its centuries-old roots and the legacy of the Byzantine rite.

The Holy Week and Easter celebrations, organized by the parish of Santa Maria a Mare, followed the local tradition: solemn masses, processions, and community gatherings, with women in traditional Arbëreshë costume.
