Ten years of Aqua Film Festival

The tenth edition of the Aqua Film Festival, directed as always by Eleonora Vallone, took place from October 2 to 4, 2025, in Tropea, in the province of Vibo Valentia, in the setting of the Santa Chiara Auditorium. The theme 'Aqua & Myth' guided a program built around the Coast of the Gods and its maritime identity, featuring documentaries, meetings, and free afternoon screenings.

Among the most anticipated moments were the world premiere of Le Guardiane della Natura, a portrait of four women committed to defending the Mediterranean environment, and the presentation of the short film Tropea, Sposa del mare, created by students from the local classical high school. The festival also offered, from September 29 to October 2, a free smartphone filming workshop led by university cinema professor Francesco Crispino, open to local schools.

In this edition, the two merit awards that have become symbols of the festival were presented: the Knight of Water and the Paladin of the Sea, handmade by the historic Tropea ceramics workshop l'Anfora. Institutional supporters included the Calabria Region, the Italian Sailing Federation, and the Institute for Sports and Cultural Credit.
