Edition 2025 — Apulia Antiqua
The 2025 edition of Apulia Antiqua unfolded over a broad timeframe, from July 10 to December 29, divided into two segments between summer and the colder season. Under the direction of Giovanni Rota and with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Municipality of Monopoli, the festival brought early music to exceptional locations: churches, cloisters, and ancient towers overlooking the sea, with concerts designed for dawn and sunset.
The programme visited Monopoli — with the first events in the Cathedral Basilica — as well as San Nicandro Garganico, Gagliano del Capo in Salento, the Museum of Egnazia near Fasano, and Polignano a Mare. The protagonist was the Orfeo Futuro ensemble, with its historical wind instruments, accompanied by solo voices and a repertoire ranging from Vivaldi to Telemann and Frescobaldi, offering the Puglian public an immersion in the sounds and atmospheres of past centuries.
