Edition 2025 — April Festival

The 2025 April Festival took place in Castellana Grotte from April 25 to 28 in honor of Maria SS. della Vetrana. The edition was marked by the national mourning for the passing of Pope Francis (April 21), which led to some changes in the program. Processions, brass band concerts, and the traditional return of the sacred image to the Sanctuary still took place.

The 2025 April Festival

In 2025, the festivities in honor of Maria Santissima della Vetrana were held in Castellana Grotte from Friday, April 25, to Monday, April 28. The edition was marked by the national mourning proclaimed for the passing of Pope Francis on April 21, which led to some changes and suspensions in the program for the most festive moments.

The calendar nevertheless retained its deep devotional character: the procession of arrival of the Madonna's painting, the performances of brass bands through the city streets, the Grand Gala Procession, and, as a conclusion, the solemn return procession to the Vetrana Sanctuary, with the symbolic handing over of the city keys to the Madonna.
