Appia Jazz Festival 2025: the first edition
From April 4 to 6, 2025, the Ex Cartiera Latina at Via Appia Antica 42, in Rome, hosted the first edition of the Appia Jazz Festival, presented as the capital's first agri-jazz festival and organized by Eticaarte with the Appia Antica Regional Park.
Friday the 4th opened at 6 PM with a talk on organic and regenerative agriculture with Francesca della Giovampaola and Fabio Pinzi, followed at 7:30 PM by a concert by Pierpaolo Vacca, who presented his debut album Travessu, blending Sardinian tradition with electronics. Saturday the 5th, at 7:30 PM, featured an experimental vocal performance by Camilla Battaglia inspired by T.S. Eliot; at 9 PM, Ester Pantano performed Vucchi l'arma, accompanied by Giovanni Balistreri on sax and Vincenzo Pipitone on keyboards. Sunday the 6th, guitarist Christian Mascetta performed at 5 PM in a solo set and at 7:30 PM with his quartet (Giulio Gentile, Pietro Pancella, Michele Santoleri), while at 6 PM, the topic was Semi di Comunità.
Every afternoon, from 4 PM to 9 PM, VinAppia brought together stands from the park's agricultural producers, with guided tastings starting at 4:30 PM curated by Francesco Stefanelli, an Honey Bar on Saturday, and a cheese tasting on Sunday. Concerts were free until capacity was reached.
