Edition 2025 — ABT Festival Sante Marie

In 2025, the Appennino Bike Tour Festival held its first national edition, featuring a long traveling journey along the Apennine ridge dedicated to soft mobility and the sustainable development of inland areas. That year, Sante Marie began the candidacy process that led it to become, in 2026, the only Abruzzo stage of the event.

The first national edition of the Appennino Bike Tour Festival brought a great traveling narrative of sustainable mobility and small villages along the Apennines. Promoted by Vivi Appennino with the Italian Cycling Federation, ANCI, and Confcommercio, the festival combined promotional bike rides, forums on sustainable development, and the promotion of local products along the 3,100-kilometer cycle path connecting the North and South of the country. That year, the municipality of Sante Marie, in the province of L'Aquila, brought the needs of the Abruzzo inland areas to the National Congress at the Chamber of Deputies, laying the foundations to host the Marsican stage in the following edition.
