Antica Sagra di Salionze

The 2025 edition of the Antica Sagra di Salionze took place in mid-July in the hamlet of Salionze, Valeggio sul Mincio (VR), confirming the formula that intertwines village festival with historical reenactment.

For four days, food stalls, open from 8 PM, offered traditional dishes, grilled meats, wines, and beer, accompanied by evenings of live music and dancing and a non-competitive cycling race. The climax was the grand costumed reenactment of the meeting between Pope Leo the Great and Attila, King of the Huns, staged with about fifty extras and forty knights in a Hunnic encampment, featuring banquets, archery, and duels, concluding with a spectacular fireworks display. The organization was handled by the association I Salionzesi.
