82nd anniversary — July 19, 2025
On the morning of Saturday, July 19, 2025, the Parco Caduti del 19 Luglio 1943 hosted the official ceremony of Rome Capital in memory of the first bombing suffered by the city in the Second World War. The Councilor for Culture, Massimiliano Smeriglio, took part in the wreath-laying, together with representatives of Municipality II and the Metropolitan City of Rome.
Neighborhood memory
In the late afternoon, at 6:30 PM, the memorial walk promoted by a network of associations and social spaces in San Lorenzo started from the Parco dei Caduti: a route through the places wounded by the 1943 bombs and the urban transformations of today. The arrival, around 8:30 PM, was set at the Casa della socialità on Via dei Volsci 86, where Guido Farinelli and Rosa Mordenti recounted "Rebellious and Popular Rome," followed by the traditional shared anti-fascist pasta meal.
