Anniversary of the Proclamation of the 1849 Roman Republic on the Janiculum Hill

The 2025 edition

The 176th anniversary was spread over two days. Saturday, February 8, at 4:00 PM in the Siege Hall of the Museum of the Roman Republic and Garibaldian Memory, the meeting A thread that does not break. The Roman Republic 1849, today was held, promoted by the ANVRG in collaboration with the Italian Mazzinian Association.

Sunday, February 9, the morning was dedicated to the official ceremony: at 10:00 AM, the laying of wreaths by representatives of Rome Capital, the Metropolitan City, and the Lazio Region; from 10:30 AM, commemorative speeches and floral tributes accompanied by the Rome Capital Local Police band playing Risorgimento music; at 11:30 AM, the special guided tour Rome, Republic, Come! in the Janiculum Park, by mandatory reservation, dedicated to the protagonists and episodes of 1849. All activities were free of charge.
