AngelicA – International Music Festival

The 35th edition of AngelicA, titled «il peso del fuoco» (the weight of fire), was held from April 30 to May 31, 2025, with its concerts spread over about a month between Bologna and Modena. The festival offered a rich program of contemporary and avant-garde music with world premieres, Italian premieres, and artistic residencies, featuring performers from numerous countries.

The opening concert on April 30 brought together two key figures of minimalism-maximalism, Charlemagne Palestine and Rhys Chatham, with the world premiere of «TWO forrrrr AngelicA». Most concerts took place at the Centro di Ricerca Musicale / Teatro San Leonardo, confirming Bologna as one of Italy's centers for research music.
