The fair of comics and pop culture at the Mole Vanvitelliana
Every spring, the city of Ancona, the capital of the Marche region, hosts Ancona Comics & Games, the fair dedicated to comics, manga, video games, and the entire universe of pop culture. The event has found its home in the evocative Mole Vanvitelliana, the ancient pentagonal lazaretto overlooking the port, which for a weekend transforms into a true "orbiting station of the fantastic" populated by superheroes, anime heroines, wizards, and creatures from every galaxy.
The Mole's spaces host a rich program designed for visitors of all ages:
The heart of Ancona Comics & Games is the packed schedule of meetings with voice actors, illustrators, singers, and performers from the Italian nerd scene. Talks, autograph sessions, and panels liven up the two days, while the cosplay competition remains the most anticipated event, with awards and parades in costume that draw cosplayers from all over central Italy.
The choice of the Mole Vanvitelliana links the event to the historic heritage of the "dorica" city: strolling among the comic stands inside an 18th-century monument designed by Luigi Vanvitelli is a unique experience in the Italian comic fair scene. Organized by the Fiere del Fumetto circuit, present with other events in various Italian cities, Ancona Comics & Games is now a fixed event of the Marche spring and a reference point for the pop culture community of the Adriatic.
The third edition of Ancona Comics & Games at the Mole Vanvitelliana confirmed the "orbiting station of the fantastic" format: two days, Saturday, April 25th, and Sunday, April 26th, 2026, with continuous hours from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The Mole hosted the publishing market, Artist Alley, the gaming area with virtual reality, the arcade hall, and numerous themed meetups.
Among the most anticipated guests was actor and voice actor Luca Ward, the star of a talk and an autograph session. An edition that attracted cosplayers, families, and pop culture enthusiasts from all over central Italy.
