Ancient Threshing Festival

Third edition: the festival consolidates

In 2025, the Ancient Threshing Festival reached its third edition, spread over two weekends—July 18, 19, and 20, and then August 1, 2, and 3—in Contrada Cote of Frascinelle, in Agropoli, in the province of Salerno.

What was proposed

The program revolved around the reconstruction of traditional agricultural work phases: the famous ancient thresher in operation, the exhibition of vintage tools, and the presence of draft oxen, with the active participation of experts and volunteers. Alongside the re-enactment, the food and wine trail brought together local artisans and producers around typical Cilento products, while the evenings were animated by folk music and traditional dances.

A positive outcome

The local press recorded high attendance from the very first evening, with food stalls being very popular and an intergenerational audience. The stated goal of the organizers was also educational: to pass on to new generations the meaning of an agricultural cycle that for centuries marked the life of the Cilento countryside. Admission was free.
