Edition 2025 — Ancient Flavors Festival

In 2025, the Ancient Flavors Festival returned to animate the square of Santa Maria La Stella during the weekend of the Madonna della Stella celebrations at the end of August. Villagers prepared traditional Sicilian rural dishes — homemade pasta, grilled sausage, scacciate, macco, and seasoned bread — served with music and entertainment in the square, alongside the religious moments of the patronal feast.

The 2025 edition of the Ancient Flavors Festival took place in the hamlet of Santa Maria La Stella (Aci Sant'Antonio, CT) during the celebrations in honor of the Madonna della Stella, which culminate on the last Sunday of August.

As per tradition, the square in front of the church was filled with stalls and tables where one could enjoy local 'cucina povera' specialties: homemade pasta, grilled sausage, scacciate, fava bean macco, chickpeas, and seasoned bread. Alongside the festival, the village experienced the most heartfelt rites of the patronal feast, from the exit of the statue to the procession through the streets, up to the final Eucharistic celebration. A weekend of taste and devotion that attracts residents and visitors from the Acireale area every year.
