The 32nd edition of the Anagni Medieval and Renaissance Theatre Festival took place from 23 to 31 August 2025, titled 'Sperare. Il teatro come arte del rinascere o del ricominciare'. 32nd edition - Sperare

From 23 to 31 August 2025, the historic centre of Anagni, in the province of Frosinone, hosted the 32nd edition of the Medieval and Renaissance Theatre Festival, dedicated to the theme Sperare. Il teatro come arte del rinascere o del ricominciare (Hoping. Theatre as the art of rebirth or starting over). Under the artistic direction of Giacomo Zito, the programme featured seven theatrical performances and a book presentation, hosted mainly in Piazza Innocenzo III, as well as in the cathedral and the cloister of the Palace of Boniface VIII.

Performers included Matthias Martelli, Vinicio Marchioni, Neri Marcorè, Amanda Sandrelli, and Giuseppe Pambieri, with works ranging from Dante to Shakespeare, and from Manzoni to the tradition of sacred mysteries and popular farces. All performances took place in the evening and were free to attend until capacity was reached, confirming the popular and high-quality nature of one of the longest-running theatre festivals in Lazio.
