Edition 2025 — Alpini March

In August 2025, the Pescocostanzo Alpini Group renewed the appointment with the Alpini March to Monte Rotella, the traditional hike toward the peak of the "Alpini Mountain" at 2,129 meters. From the historic center of Pescocostanzo, "penne nere" and hikers climbed to the monument at the summit for the usual day of mountain air, tricolor flags, and Alpini songs, accompanied by the Alpini band.

Alpini March to Monte Rotella 2025

The 2025 edition of the Alpini March to Monte Rotella took place at the end of August, confirming an event now deeply rooted in the life of Pescocostanzo (AQ) and organized by the local Alpini Group, part of the ANA Abruzzi Section. From the historic center, the group climbed along the high-altitude trails to the summit of Monte Rotella, at 2,129 meters, where the Alpini monument built in 1986 stands.

As per tradition, the day combined the mountain hike with a commemorative moment at the summit, amidst the tricolor flag and Alpini songs accompanied by the group's band. An edition that reaffirmed the strong bond between the community of Pescocostanzo, the Alto Sangro, and the tradition of the "penne nere" in Abruzzo.
