2025 Edition — The Ridnaun Valley Transhumance
The Almabtrieb Ridnaun was held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, in Masseria/Maiern, in the municipality of Racines/Ratschings, in the province of Bolzano. From 10:00 AM, the valley floor of the Ridnaun Valley came alive with the farmers' market and folk music, awaiting the arrival of the livestock.
Around 11:30 AM, the great procession of about 2,000 sheep and 100 cows, adorned with fir-branch crowns, flower garlands, cowbells, and traditional embroidery, reached Masseria amidst a crowd of spectators. The autumn festival continued with performances by the Goaslschnöller, music from local bands, and South Tyrolean rural culinary specialties, in an authentic atmosphere marking the end of the alpine season.
