Edition 2025 — Almabtrieb Pfalzen
The 2025 Almabtrieb in Falzes
In 2025, the village of Falzes/Pfalzen, in the Puster Valley, once again celebrated the traditional Almabtrieb on an October weekend, marking the descent of livestock from high-altitude pastures to the valley floor at the end of the alpine grazing season. The cows paraded through the village festively adorned with flowers, green branches, bells, and ribbons, following a ritual of thanksgiving for a summer spent without incident in the alpine dairy.
The event took place, as is customary, alongside the Kirchtag, the village's patronal feast, featuring folk music, groups in traditional costume, food stalls, and the hospitality typical of South Tyrolean communities. An authentic opportunity to experience the Alpine culture of the Province of Bolzano and the farming traditions still alive in the Puster Valley.
