Edition 2025 — Almabtrieb in Altrei

In 2025, Anterivo/Altrei once again celebrated the Almabtrieb, its annual desmontegada. As per tradition, cows and horses descended from the alpine pastures, returning to the village around noon, welcomed by the community with a festival in front of the Kultursaal. Music, local products, and conviviality enlivened the day in the Monte Corno Nature Park, confirming it as one of the most cherished events in southern South Tyrol.

The 2025 edition of the Almabtrieb in Altrei renewed the autumn ritual of transhumance in Anterivo/Altrei. Respecting a tradition that has been repeated for generations, the herds and horses descended from the high-altitude pastures to return to the village, welcomed by the population. The descent of the livestock was followed by the usual festival in front of the Kultursaal, organized by the Weideinteressentschaft Altrei, with music, mountain gastronomy, and the community atmosphere that characterizes this event. The event confirmed the village's bond — as the only German-speaking municipality in the Val di Fiemme — with its alpine roots.
