Edition 2025 — Aldeiner Almabtrieb

The 2025 edition of the Aldeiner Almabtrieb took place on a day in September in Aldein, on the Regglberg plateau. As is tradition, the return of the livestock from the mountain pastures was welcomed on the Messnerwiese meadow by a grand folk festival, featuring a morning Frühschoppen, Tyrolean folk music, entertainment for children, and South Tyrolean culinary specialties.

Aldeiner Almabtrieb 2025

In 2025, the village of Aldein, in the Province of Bolzano, once again celebrated its traditional transhumance festival in September. The herds, decorated with flower garlands and cowbells, returned from the pastures, parading through the village in a festive procession.

The gathering took place on the Messnerwiese meadow, with a morning Frühschoppen accompanied by live music. There was no shortage of folk music groups and costumed dancers, a children's area with a small market and games, and many typical South Tyrolean culinary specialties, in an atmosphere of celebration blending farming tradition and mountain conviviality.

Return of the livestock from the pastures with decorated animals; morning Frühschoppen on the Messnerwiese meadow; performances by Tyrolean folk music groups (Steinegger Böhmische), whip-crackers (Goaslschnöller), and costumed dancers; children's area with a market and bouncy castle; South Tyrolean culinary specialties.
