Agatine Jubilee – 9th Centenary of the Translation of the Relics of Saint Agatha

In 2025, Catania began the journey toward the great event of the 9th Centenary: on August 17, 2025, the Agatine Jubilee Year was officially opened, dedicated to preparing for the celebrations of the 900 years since the return of Saint Agatha's relics.

During the preparatory year, the collective art project "Tu sei Agata" by Domenico Pellegrino also took shape: the collection of embroidered fabrics and the stitching of the monumental veil, destined for Via Etnea, involved tailors, schools, and hundreds of volunteers from the Municipality of Catania and beyond. A choral journey that united faith, art, and the identity of Eastern Sicily, anticipating the extraordinary Summer Feast of 2026.
