Edition 2025 — Nonviolence Festival

The 2025 edition of the Active Nonviolence Festival took place in Rome in a single-day format, following the formula adopted by the first editions. Promoted by Energia per i Diritti Umani APS, it brought together meetings, book presentations, and moments of discussion on peace, human rights, and the culture of nonviolence in the neighborhood between San Lorenzo and Piazza Bologna, with free admission open to the public.

A day of meetings in the heart of Rome

Before the transition to the two-day format, the Active Nonviolence Festival took place in 2025 as a single day of meetings, readings, and debate. A compact format that concentrated the main themes of the event into a few hours: peace and disarmament, the rights of migrants, nonviolent education, and the role of women in liberation practices.

The edition, promoted by Energia per i Diritti Umani APS in the Municipality of Rome, confirmed the choice of free admission and collaboration with local associations, from schools to independent publishers committed to peace issues. It was the foundation upon which the expansion of the following edition was built, which in 2026 doubles the duration and structures the program into five thematic panels.

In 2025, the festival also confirmed itself as one of the reference appointments in the Lazio region for those working on human rights, cooperation, and civil commitment.
