Accademia Romanesca Admission Competition

2025 Edition

The 2025 call for entries set March 16, 2025, as the final deadline for submitting poems, with the same limit of two unpublished compositions in Roman dialect of no more than thirty lines each, free participation, and the exclusion of those who are or have been members of the Academy.

The awards ceremony took place in the hall of the «La Vaccheria» exhibition space, a cultural venue in Rome's Ninth Municipality. The jury, composed of scholars and poets from the Accademia Romanesca, decided not to create a ranking, admitting the authors of the best-judged texts as equals. A distinctive feature of this edition was the success of the «Youth» section: middle school students were also admitted, having entrusted their emotions to the Roman dialect.

Winners received the Academy's annual membership card, the anthology volume «I Quaderni dell'Accademia», the grammar book «A nò, come se scrive?», and the admission diploma, which they collected in person during the ceremony.
