Abruzzo Horror Film Festival

The 2025 edition

The eleventh edition of the Abruzzo Horror Film Festival animated the historic center of L'Aquila from October 27 to November 2, 2025. The Sala Lignea of the Palazzetto dei Nobili hosted free screenings of feature films and short films in competition, with works from Argentina, the Netherlands, and Italy. Piazza del Teatro hosted open-air screenings dedicated to the anniversaries of great genre classics, from Deep Red to The Witch, from Hostel to Demons.

In the basement of the Palazzetto, the Temporary Horror Museum returned with a photography exhibition and a themed bookstore, while the program was enriched by the first edition of the Fanzine Contest, the Abruzzo Horror Literary Contest (6th edition), and evocative evening walks at the Monumental Cemetery. The awards ceremony was held on November 2 in the Sala Lignea. The event was supported by the Directorate General for Cinema, the Abruzzo Region, and the Municipality of L'Aquila.
