Edition 2025 — Abakainon Festival

The first edition of the Abakainon Festival in June 2025 inaugurated the event in Tripi dedicated to the roots of the ancient Sicel-Greek city, immediately following the official adoption of the name Tripi-Abakainon. Between the Santi Furnari Museum, the Monumental Necropolis, workshops, traditional Cuddura, and the Greek music concert, the event laid the foundations for a new identity-based festival in the Nebrodi.

The first edition of the Abakainon Festival, in June 2025, brought to life in Tripi a new secular festival dedicated to the memory of the ancient Sicel-Greek city of Abakainon. The event was born in the wake of the popular referendum of June 2024 and the adoption of the name "Tripi-Abakainon." The inaugural day featured the opening of the Santi Furnari Archaeological Museum and the Monumental Necropolis, guided archaeological tours, a children's workshop on the roots of Abakainon, the presentation of the Cuddura with a tasting of local products, and, in closing, the re-enactment of the Greek Symposium and the Hellenic music concert. A formula that combined archaeology, gastronomy, and culture, laying the foundations for the following edition.
