Edition 2025 — 8th Evac Hospital

In previous editions, the 8th Evac Hospital - Pietramala brought back to Firenzuola the memory of the American field hospital stationed here in the winter of 1944-1945. Curated by the Overlord 44 group, the re-enactment featured the reconstruction of the medical camp, with military tents, vintage medical equipment, and re-enactors in uniform, at the Pro Loco of Pietramala. A free-access living history event dedicated to the history of the Gothic Line.

In its editions, the 8th Evac Hospital - Pietramala has presented in Pietramala, a village of Firenzuola (FI), the re-enactment of the American military hospital operating in the area during the Italian campaign. The Overlord 44 group set up the camp with tents, medical supplies, and Second World War vehicles, animating a day of living history dedicated to the memory of the fighting on the Gothic Line in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. Admission has always been free.
