The patronal feast of August at Parco Poma, with music, markets, and fireworks
The Madonna della Neve (Our Lady of the Snows) is the patron saint of Cura Carpignano, a municipality in the Province of Pavia just a few kilometers from the provincial capital. Her feast day, August 5th, is the occasion for the most important festival of the year: the Sagra della Madonna della Neve, which takes place at Parco Poma, in front of the town's school.
The sagra unfolds over several evenings of celebration. The program combines live music, with concerts and cover bands, with gastronomic offerings prepared by volunteers, in an atmosphere of conviviality typical of Lombard village festivals. There is also an area dedicated to children, making the event suitable for all ages.
Among the most anticipated events are the artisan market, which brightens one of the evenings, and especially the grand finale fireworks display, which closes the festival by illuminating the sky above Parco Poma. It is the highlight, the moment that draws locals and visitors from neighboring towns each year.
The sagra is organized by the Pro Loco (local tourist association) with the patronage of the Municipality, representing the associative fabric that keeps the community life of the small towns in the Pavese region alive. Experiencing the festival is also a way to discover an authentic corner of Lombardy, in the countryside south of Pavia, far from the major tourist flows.
The Sagra della Madonna della Neve 2026 renews the celebration of the patron saint in Cura Carpignano, scheduled at Parco Poma on the days around August 5th.
As tradition dictates, the sagra offers evenings of live music, food prepared by volunteers, a children's area, an artisan market, and the grand fireworks finale. The complete program will be announced by the Pro Loco and the Municipality in the weeks leading up to the event.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be published by the Pro Loco of Cura Carpignano in the weeks preceding the festival, around the feast day of the Madonna della Neve (August 5th).
The traditional structure of the sagra includes:
