The bread of Loreo and panbiscotto take centre stage in the waterside village of the Po Delta
The Sagra del Pane di Loreo is the festival that, every June, puts a symbolic product of the village at its centre: panbiscotto, the traditional Loreo twice-baked bread, whose origins are lost in local historical memory. We are in Loreo, in the province of Rovigo, in the heart of the Veneto Regional Park of the Po Delta, a historic waterside village crossed by canals.
The festival celebrates master bakers and bread culture with a programme that combines:
Organised by the Pro Loco of Loreo in synergy with the Municipality, the Sagra del Pane is an eagerly awaited event on the Polesine calendar, often accompanied by the food and wine event "Terra e Mare". Experiencing the festival means discovering the soul of a waterside village and a gastronomic tradition rooted in the rural civilisation of the Delta.
For 2026, the 25th edition of the Sagra del Pane di Loreo is expected, generally held around the third Sunday of June. The festival's structure is confirmed: panbiscotto at the centre, reenactments of rural life such as threshing, tastings, markets, and cultural and musical events in the waterside village of the Po Delta.
The detailed programme for the 2026 edition, with precise dates and evening-by-evening events, will be announced by the Pro Loco of Loreo in the weeks preceding the festival.
